Over the years I have been to the Chamonix valley in lots of different Months but one of my
best memories was being out in Argentiere staying at the Gite Belvedere in May. So this year Jill and I decided to head out
on May 1st which was my birthday !
I had been on nightshift but after a few hours sleep we got the kit in the car and headed down to Newcastle
airport. The Easyjet flight was on time and after picking up our hire car ( a nice little Peugeot 307) we were soon on our
way out of the city and heading for Chamonix. The temperature this evening in Geneva was 23'C ! Had a good drive up to Argentiere
where it was only 16'C. Got our room key from the security box and after unpacking our things we went across the road to the
Office bar for a couple of beers.
A lot of the seasonaires were having a bit of end of season party and a few of them,both male and female
were even streaking up and down the main village street !! Got away to bed by 1.15am.
